The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has decided to discontinue the incentive increment linked to family planning operations, bringing its policy in line with long standing government guidelines.

The decision, which has come into immediate effect, removes the additional salary benefit that was earlier provided to employees who opted for sterilization procedures. Officials clarified that the move is part of efforts to standardize policies across public sector institutions.

According to the corporation, the incentive increment had already been withdrawn by the government years ago, but continued within the transport body until now. With the latest order, employees or their spouses undergoing such procedures will no longer receive any additional pay benefits.

Previously, employees with limited family size who underwent family planning operations were eligible for a special increment categorized under personal pay. This provision has now been formally discontinued following a resolution passed by the TGSRTC board.

However, the corporation has maintained that employees will continue to receive special casual leave for undergoing such medical procedures. This ensures that while financial incentives are removed, basic support for employee welfare remains intact.

The decision has drawn attention among employees, as it marks a shift from a long followed benefit. Officials reiterated that the change is aimed at maintaining uniformity with existing government norms and streamlining internal policies.
