Uber has announced plans to further expand its Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad, strengthening the company’s long term commitment to Telangana. Uber Chief Executive Officer Dara Khosrowshahi shared the development during a meeting with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and senior state officials.

The company revealed that the Hyderabad facility was Uber’s first Centre of Excellence established outside the United States. Around 600 engineers are currently working at the center, which plays an important role in the company’s global operations and technology development.

During the discussions, Uber also expressed interest in establishing a corporate office in the proposed Future City project being developed by the Telangana government. Dara Khosrowshahi informed the Chief Minister that the company intends to expand its activities in the state further and sought continued support from the government.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy used the meeting to highlight growing parking challenges in major urban areas. He suggested that companies like Uber could explore opportunities to develop multilevel parking facilities, especially near metro stations where commuters often face parking shortages.

The Chief Minister also encouraged the development of integrated parking spaces along with electric vehicle charging stations to support the city’s future transportation needs. Uber representatives responded positively and said they would study the proposal in detail.

Speaking about the ambitious Future City project, Revanth Reddy said the government aims to attract global Fortune 500 companies to the 30 thousand acre development zone. He noted that several companies have already shown interest in establishing operations there following the Global Summit held in December.

Senior Uber executives including Chief Business Officer Madhu Kannan, South Asia President Prabhjeet Singh, and Chief Technology Officer Praveen Nippalli Naga attended the meeting along with government officials.
