TGSRTC has announced special bus services for Ugadi and Ramzan festivals to handle the expected surge in passenger demand across Telangana and nearby states. With heavy travel anticipated on March 17, 18, and 23, the transport corporation has made arrangements to operate additional buses on key routes.

To manage operational costs, TGSRTC has decided to impose a 50 percent increase in ticket fares for these special services. Officials clarified that the revised pricing applies only to special buses and not to regular services, which will continue to run at standard fares.

The decision follows government guidelines issued earlier, allowing fare adjustments for special services based on fuel costs and maintenance expenses. Authorities stated that the move is aimed at ensuring smooth travel during peak festival days without affecting regular commuters.

Passengers traveling during the festival period are advised to plan accordingly, as the demand for tickets is expected to be high. The corporation believes that these additional services will help reduce overcrowding and provide better travel options.

Meanwhile, TGSRTC is also preparing to strengthen its fleet with the introduction of around two thousand electric buses in the coming months. Agreements have already been initiated with selected companies for supply, and the new buses are expected to be rolled out in phases starting later this year.

Officials noted that the growing passenger load, especially due to free bus travel schemes, has increased pressure on the existing fleet. The introduction of electric buses is expected to improve service quality and reduce environmental impact.

With special buses in place and plans for fleet expansion underway, TGSRTC aims to improve travel convenience during major festivals while preparing for future demand.
