A joyful wedding trip turned into a tragic incident in Telangana’s Kamareddy district after a car carrying relatives to a marriage function met with a serious road accident on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred near Chinna Mallareddy village in Kamareddy mandal when the vehicle reportedly went out of control and rammed into a roadside culvert with great impact.
According to local sources, eight members of the wedding party were travelling together in the car at the time of the accident. As the vehicle approached a petrol pump near the village, the driver allegedly lost control, causing the car to crash violently into the culvert.
The front portion of the vehicle was badly damaged in the collision. Family members travelling in the car, including the groom’s parents and several close relatives, suffered injuries in the accident.
Residents nearby rushed to the spot immediately after hearing the loud crash. Locals informed the police and helped rescue the injured passengers trapped inside the damaged vehicle before shifting them for medical treatment.
All injured persons were later taken to the Government General Hospital in Kamareddy for treatment. Hospital sources said two of the injured victims are believed to be in critical condition.
The incident left family members devastated as the wedding ceremony was expected to begin shortly before the accident took place. What had started as a happy occasion quickly turned emotional for the relatives and friends involved.
Police reached the accident site soon after receiving information and registered a case. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact reason behind the crash.
