Karnataka: Dharwad paramedical student murder shocks city outskirts

Karnataka, Dharwad: The discovery of a young woman’s body on the outskirts of Dharwad has sent shockwaves through the city and raised serious concerns about the safety of students. The victim has been identified as a nineteen year old paramedical graduate who had recently completed her studies and was searching for employment.

According to the police the woman left her home on Tuesday evening saying she was heading to a laboratory. When she did not return by night her family grew worried and began searching for her across known locations and with friends.

The search ended in tragedy early Wednesday morning when her body was found near a private dairy facility along the Mansur Road stretch. The location where the body was discovered has led investigators to suspect that the murder may have occurred elsewhere and the body was later abandoned to erase evidence.

Police teams from Dharwad Rural and Vidyagiri stations rushed to the spot and began preliminary investigations. The area was secured and forensic procedures were initiated as officers examined the surroundings for clues.
