Karnataka: Rajya Sabha member and author Sudha Murty has issued a strong public warning after fake videos began circulating online using her image and voice to promote financial schemes and investment offers. She said the content being shared is completely false and misleading.

Murty clarified that the videos are deepfakes created without her knowledge or consent. She expressed concern that such clips are being widely shared on social media platforms and are designed to mislead people into making risky financial decisions.

In a video message shared on social media, Murty urged people not to take any financial decisions based on these fraudulent videos. She asked the public to verify information only through official and trusted channels before investing money anywhere.

The author said it was painful to see multiple fake videos appearing simultaneously on platforms like Facebook, falsely showing her speaking about investing small amounts and promising unusually high returns. She stressed that such claims are entirely fabricated.

Murty also revealed that several people known to her had already lost money after believing these misleading messages. She cautioned users to be especially careful with financial content circulating online and not to fall for promises of quick profits.

Reiterating her long held public stance, Murty said she never speaks about investments or financial gains. She explained that her work and public interactions are focused on education culture women empowerment and values rather than money matters.

She appealed to citizens to protect their hard earned savings and avoid greed driven decisions. If in doubt, she advised people to consult banks send emails for verification or approach the police for guidance instead of trusting online videos using her name.
