The Telangana government has put an end to growing speculation over the future of newly formed districts, with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka issuing a clear statement on the issue.
Speaking to the media, Bhatti said the government has no proposal to cancel or restructure districts. He termed the ongoing rumours as completely false and misleading.
Over the past few days, reports circulating on social media and messaging platforms claimed that the government was planning to abolish some districts due to rising administrative costs. These claims had created anxiety among employees and residents in several district headquarters.
Bhatti said such misinformation was being deliberately spread to create confusion. He urged people not to fall for unverified messages and political rumours.
He clarified that the district system was introduced to bring administration closer to people and that there has been no change in that policy direction.
The Deputy Chief Minister said recent administrative reviews and discussions on expenditure control were wrongly linked to district cancellation plans. He stressed that departmental restructuring should not be misinterpreted.
Bhatti also responded to allegations related to Singareni Collieries. He firmly rejected claims that attempts were being made to misuse or grab Singareni assets.
He assured that all assets belonging to Singareni would be fully protected and said the government would not allow any form of exploitation.
The Deputy CM announced that a detailed statement on the Singareni issue would be released soon to clear all doubts among the public.
Calling for responsible discussion, Bhatti urged citizens to rely on official information rather than speculation. He reiterated that every decision taken by the government is aimed at public welfare.
With the Deputy CM’s clarification, officials believe the uncertainty surrounding district reorganisation has now been put to rest.
