The Telangana state government is preparing for an important cabinet meeting as the budget exercise enters its final stage. The meeting will be held on February 23 at 3 pm at the Secretariat under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Senior officials said the TG Cabinet Meeting will mainly review arrangements for the upcoming Assembly Budget sessions. The government is considering holding the sessions for around ten to fifteen days starting in the last week of February. A final schedule is expected to be cleared during the meeting.

Ministers will also deliberate on department wise budget allocations with a strong focus on irrigation education and health sectors. The finance department has been working to ensure that spending plans reflect public needs and realistic revenue projections.

Another key agenda is the implementation of new welfare schemes and election promises. The cabinet may take final calls on financial support for flagship programmes such as housing and social welfare initiatives. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has already held detailed consultations with departments ahead of the meeting.

The cabinet will also review funds expected from the Centre along with the state’s own revenue sources. Once the proposals receive cabinet approval the budget is likely to be presented in the Assembly by the end of February or early March.
