The weather department has warned of moderate to heavy rainfall across several Telangana districts over the next two days with thunderstorms strong winds and hail likely prompting orange and yellow alerts and safety advisories.

  • Rain Alert issued for Telangana districts.
  • Hyderabad and Rangareddy under orange alert.
  • Farmers advised caution amid crop damage risk.

Unsettled weather conditions are set to continue across Telangana as the Meteorological Department issued fresh rain alerts for multiple districts. After a sudden shift in weather brought relief from heat along with intense showers on Monday evening the department warned that similar conditions are expected today and tomorrow as well.

According to officials the impact of a low pressure system over the Bay of Bengal combined with an active trough stretching from West Bengal to coastal Andhra Pradesh is driving the current spell. Although the system is gradually weakening it is still strong enough to trigger thunderstorms lightning and gusty winds across the state.

The Hyderabad weather centre forecast heavy rainfall for Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts and issued an orange alert. Wind speeds may touch forty kilometres per hour accompanied by thunder showers. Commuters and residents have been advised to remain cautious especially during evening and night hours.

Several other districts including Jangaon Jogulamba Gadwal Mahabubnagar Medchal Malkajgiri Nagarkurnool Nalgonda Narayanpet Sangareddy Suryapet Vikarabad Wanaparthy and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri are under yellow alert with chances of moderate rain.

The recent spell has already caused concern in rural areas. In parts of Nalgonda and Adilabad districts crops such as paddy maize and jowar suffered damage due to strong winds and hailstorms. Similar rain activity was reported in districts like Kumuram Bheem Asifabad Nirmal Jagtial Siddipet Kamareddy and Bhadradri Kothagudem.

In Hyderabad intermittent rain with strong winds disrupted traffic and daily routines late Monday and early Tuesday. Weather officials cautioned that more showers may hit the city over the next forty eight hours.

Farmers have been urged to take preventive steps to protect standing crops while the general public has been advised to avoid open areas during lightning and stay alert to weather updates.
