Telangana Government Medical Colleges Recruitment Begins for 607 Assistant Professor Posts
Telangana has started recruitment for 607 Assistant Professor posts in government medical colleges to address faculty shortages with merit based selection and appointments expected by end of March.

The Telangana government has formally launched a major recruitment drive to strengthen teaching staff in government medical colleges. The process aims to fill 607 Assistant Professor posts across multiple disciplines to address long standing faculty shortages.
The Telangana Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board has released provisional candidate details and invited objections from applicants. Candidates can submit objections until February 28. Officials said the final merit list will be issued after scrutiny, paving the way for appointments by the end of March.
Recruitment has been planned on a multi zone basis to ensure balanced distribution of faculty. Of the total posts, 379 are allotted to Multi Zone 1 and 228 to Multi Zone 2. Authorities said this structured approach will help improve academic standards uniformly across regions.
The vacancies span a wide range of departments including gynaecology general medicine general surgery anaesthesia paediatrics physiology pharmacology community medicine and radiodiagnosis. Several other specialties will also receive new faculty members as part of this drive.
Selected Assistant Professors will be paid as per University Grants Commission norms with salaries ranging from 68,900 rupees to 2,05,500 rupees per month. The recruitment covers 34 government medical colleges across the state.
Officials said the decision follows recommendations made by a committee that reviewed infrastructure and staffing gaps in medical colleges. The government believes the new appointments will significantly improve teaching quality and healthcare education delivery.
