No Petrol Shortage in Telangana, Dealers Association Urges Public Not to Panic
Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association clarifies there is no petrol shortage in the state, saying panic buying driven by rumours has led to unusual surge in fuel sales.

- Telangana petrol shortage rumours denied
- Fuel sales increased due to panic buying
- Dealers urge public not to panic
Amid growing concerns over a possible fuel shortage, the Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association has firmly stated that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the state. The clarification comes as long queues were seen at fuel stations following widespread rumours.
According to the association, the sudden rush at petrol bunks is not due to supply issues but because of panic buying triggered by misinformation. In fact, fuel sales have reportedly surged to nearly three times the normal levels in recent days.
Officials explained that such an unexpected spike in demand has temporarily affected stock availability at a few outlets. However, they stressed that this is only a short term situation and does not indicate any real shortage in supply.
The association has appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid unnecessary bulk purchases. People have been advised to refuel only as per their immediate needs instead of filling full tanks or storing fuel in cans and drums.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to review the situation in a high level meeting with officials. The discussion will focus on ensuring uninterrupted supply of petrol, gas and other essential resources across the state.
Authorities are also working to address the spread of false information, urging citizens to rely only on official updates. The government and dealers have reassured that there is no cause for concern and fuel supplies remain stable.
