In a major boost to the welfare sector the Telangana government has announced plans to fill 15000 Anganwadi teacher posts in the near future. Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka made this key announcement while addressing an event in Mahabubabad highlighting the government commitment to strengthen grassroots services.

The minister stated that the recruitment drive is part of broader efforts to improve the Anganwadi system across the state. She emphasized that the government is also positively considering a proposal to increase salaries for Anganwadi teachers and helpers reflecting growing attention to their welfare.

During the event Seethakka inaugurated a day care center for the elderly and distributed smartphones to Anganwadi workers. She revealed that 1368 workers in Mahabubabad district have already received smartphones and a total of 37000 devices will be distributed across Telangana to improve service delivery and digital access.

The government is also planning to prioritize Anganwadi staff in the allocation of Indiramma housing schemes ensuring better living conditions for workers. The minister further mentioned that the state has requested the central government to increase its share in Anganwadi workers salaries.

In addition to recruitment and welfare measures the government is focusing on nutrition and health initiatives. Plans are underway to introduce a breakfast program for children attending Anganwadi centers with a pilot phase to begin in selected regions before expanding statewide.

Special attention is being given to addressing anemia among adolescent girls especially in remote and tribal areas through enhanced nutrition programs. Officials aim to create a malnutrition free Telangana by strengthening these initiatives.

The government is also accelerating infrastructure development with 2199 new Anganwadi buildings sanctioned across the state. While around 500 buildings are currently ready the remaining construction works are being pushed for early completion.

Under the Saksham Anganwadi program steps are being taken to ensure quality nutrition improved preschool education and better hygiene standards in every center. Minister Seethakka reiterated that the government will continue to support Anganwadi workers while improving services for children and women across Telangana.
