The Vijaya Reddy suicide case has taken a dramatic turn months after the tragic incident that shocked the city. New allegations by her husband have raised serious questions, prompting calls for a fresh investigation.
Surender Reddy, husband of the deceased software professional, has approached the Medipally police claiming that harassment from his wife’s family played a key role in the deaths. He has also sought protection, stating that his life is now under threat.
According to his complaint, disputes over property began soon after the incident. He alleged that his mother in law brother in law and his wife pressured the family over assets, creating a tense environment that led to extreme distress.
He further claimed that the pressure became unbearable for Vijaya Reddy, ultimately pushing her to take the tragic decision along with their two children. He insisted that his wife and children were not weak individuals and would not have taken such a step without severe provocation.
The incident dates back to January 31, when Vijaya Reddy, who worked as a team leader in a Hyderabad tech firm, travelled with her teenage children to a railway track near Charlapalli. All three died after coming under a moving train.
At the time, Surender Reddy was reportedly working abroad. Now, after returning, he has come forward with fresh claims, alleging that the same family members continue to threaten him for property.
He stated that if anything happens to him, his assets should not go to those accused and instead be transferred to his parents or a trust.
Police officials are reviewing the complaint, and there are indications that the case could be reopened for further investigation based on these new allegations.
The development has once again brought focus on the case, highlighting the emotional and legal complexities surrounding family disputes and tragic outcomes.
