In a step aimed at strengthening workplace safety, the Telangana government has established an Internal Complaints Committee in the Revenue department at the Secretariat to address grievances of women employees.

The committee has been tasked with receiving and investigating complaints related to workplace harassment, particularly cases involving sexual misconduct. After conducting enquiries, it will submit detailed reports to the Secretary to Government, enabling appropriate disciplinary action as per existing service rules.

The panel is led by L L V Subbamma, Additional Secretary and Presiding Officer. Other members include Joint Secretary J V Vijayalakshmi, Section Officer A Uma Reddy, and Assistant Section Officer K Nivedita, who also represents the Telangana Secretariat Women Association.

Officials stated that the committee will function in accordance with guidelines issued by the government from time to time. The initiative follows directions from the Women Child Disabled and Senior Citizens department, which urged all Secretariat departments to establish such committees to ensure a safer and more accountable work environment for women.

The move is expected to provide a structured platform for women employees to raise concerns and seek timely redressal, reinforcing the government’s commitment to workplace dignity and protection.
