Chandrababu Shifts TDP Mahanadu to Hybrid Online Format Amid Fuel Saving Push
Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for fuel conservation, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu decided to conduct this year’s TDP Mahanadu in a hybrid online format.

- TDP Mahanadu to be held online this year
- Chandrababu backs Modi fuel saving measures
- NTR Bhavan to host hybrid Mahanadu sessions
In a major change to the Telugu Desam Party’s annual convention plans, TDP national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to conduct this year’s Mahanadu entirely through a hybrid online model. The move comes in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal for fuel conservation amid the ongoing West Asia crisis.
The party had initially planned to organise the three day Mahanadu event in Nellore on May 27, 28 and 29 with large scale arrangements already underway. However, the latest decision has shifted the focus towards a cost effective and fuel saving approach, reflecting the government’s emphasis on austerity measures.
According to party leaders, the online Mahanadu sessions will now be held on May 27 and 29. A special stage will be set up at NTR Bhavan in Mangalagiri, where Politburo members and senior leaders will deliver speeches and participate in discussions.
To ensure participation across the state, the party is making arrangements to install electronic screens at 1,845 cluster locations. Through this hybrid system, party workers and supporters from different regions will be able to watch the proceedings live without travelling long distances.
The decision is being seen as a symbolic extension of the state government’s ongoing savings initiatives. Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet ministers have already been promoting fuel and expenditure control measures, and the new format for Mahanadu is expected to reinforce that message further.
