BRS Faces Setback in Palvancha as Senior Leader Resigns
A senior BRS leader from Palvancha has resigned from the party, citing lack of leadership and ineffective opposition role in Kothagudem constituency over recent years.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi received a significant setback in Bhadradri Kothagudem district after a senior party leader announced his resignation from both his party position and active membership.
Kampelli Kanakesh Patel, Vice Chairman of the Palvancha Large Sized Cooperative Society, submitted his resignation through a letter addressed to party president K. Chandrashekar Rao. The resignation letter was dated May 30, 2026.
In his communication, Patel stated that he had been associated with the party since 2014 and had worked actively for more than a decade. He also recalled being elected as Vice Chairman of the cooperative society in 2020 while representing the party.
Explaining his decision, Patel expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of leadership in the Kothagudem Assembly constituency. He said the party had been facing a noticeable leadership vacuum for the past two and a half years, making it difficult to effectively represent public concerns.
According to Patel, the absence of clear direction and strong organizational guidance has weakened the party’s ability to function as a strong opposition force. He noted that these circumstances left him with no option but to step away from the party.
He requested the party leadership to accept his resignation with immediate effect. Copies of the letter were also sent to senior BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao, Rajya Sabha MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, and district president Rega Kantha Rao.
The development has sparked political discussion in Palvancha and Kothagudem, with local party workers closely watching how the leadership responds to the resignation of a long time member.
