Bandi Sai Bhagirath Moves Telangana High Court For Interim Bail

Bandi Sai Bhagirath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, approached the Telangana High Court on Tuesday seeking interim bail in the POCSO case registered against him.
The petition was filed before the vacation bench of the High Court amid growing political and public attention surrounding the case. The latest development came shortly after Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed the state Director General of Police to speed up the investigation.
Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, police officials intensified their inquiry into the allegations registered at the Pet Basheerabad police station on May 8. A Special Investigation Team is currently handling the case.
Kukatpally Deputy Commissioner of Police Ritija visited the police station and reviewed the progress of the investigation. Speaking to media representatives, she said police had already examined the statement given by the 17 year old victim and further information was still required for the inquiry.
The DCP stated that the investigation team is planning to meet the victim again as part of the ongoing probe. She also confirmed that police are attempting to trace Bhagirath, whose mobile phone has reportedly remained switched off for the last few days.
Officials revealed that investigators have prepared extensive documentation related to the case and drafted a detailed action plan to review evidence and determine the next steps in the investigation.
The case has continued to attract statewide attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and the political background connected to the accused. Police officials maintained that further action will be taken based on evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation.
