A major administrative concern has surfaced in Telangana after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy revealed the presence of thousands of Bogus Employees within the government system. The disclosure came during a high level meeting with district collectors held at the Secretariat.
According to the government review nearly one lakh seventy thousand workers are currently employed across various departments through outsourcing and contract systems. However detailed verification of records reportedly found that around twenty five thousand Bogus Employees exist only on paper.
Officials discovered that several names were created without proper identification details and some even lacked Aadhaar verification. These names were allegedly used by outsourcing agencies to claim salaries for years resulting in misuse of public funds.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed the finance department to conduct a comprehensive audit into the functioning of outsourcing agencies involved in these irregularities. He also ordered criminal cases against those responsible for creating and maintaining Bogus Employees records.
The chief minister warned district collectors to remain vigilant and prevent such misuse of government resources. Authorities have been asked to closely monitor employment records and ensure strict verification of staff working under outsourcing arrangements.
The issue was discussed during the review of the upcoming public governance programme which will run for ninety nine days from March six to June twelve. The initiative aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and improve coordination between officials and public representatives.
During the meeting Revanth Reddy also instructed officials to take firm action against irregularities in grain procurement illegal sand mining and other activities affecting government revenue. Collectors were told to act strictly against violators and ensure accountability in all departments.
The government hopes that exposing Bogus Employees and tightening oversight will help protect public funds while restoring transparency in the administrative system across the state.
