A disturbing incident in Hanamkonda has left the community in shock after a man allegedly killed his wife and two young daughters over a deeply rooted gender bias. The crime took place on the outskirts of Punnele village in Ainavolu mandal, raising serious concerns about ongoing social attitudes.
The accused, identified as Ajaruddin, was running a swimming pool where he lived with his family. Despite already having two daughters, he reportedly grew increasingly disturbed after his wife Farhat became pregnant again, suspecting that the unborn child would also be a girl.
According to police investigation, this was not the first time he had pressured his wife. In the past, he allegedly forced her to undergo abortions under similar suspicions. When Farhat refused to terminate the pregnancy this time, tensions escalated within the family.
Investigators revealed that the accused had planned the crime. He took his wife and daughters to the swimming pool he managed and pushed them into the water, leading to their deaths. He then attempted to present the incident as an accident to avoid suspicion.
The truth began to unfold when Farhat’s father grew suspicious and approached the police. During interrogation, Ajaruddin confessed to the crime, admitting that his actions were driven by the belief that another girl child would be born.
The tragic deaths of a mother and her two daughters at the hands of a family member have caused widespread outrage across the district. The police have arrested the accused and further investigation is underway.
This incident has once again highlighted the dangerous consequences of gender discrimination, even in modern society, leaving many questioning how such mindsets continue to persist.
