- Telangana heat risk increases
Authorities in Telangana have issued warnings as rising temperatures continue to affect different parts of the state, with heat related deaths creating concern among residents. Reports indicate that five people lost their lives due to heatstroke as intense summer conditions continue.
According to available information, three deaths were reported in Bhupalpally district while two others were recorded in Mancherial district. Officials have urged people to stay alert and avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours unless absolutely necessary.
Medical experts say excessive heat exposure can create serious health complications. Long periods under direct sunlight may increase body temperature and lead to dehydration, exhaustion and severe heat related illnesses.
Doctors are advising people to stay hydrated throughout the day instead of waiting until they feel thirsty. Fluids such as water, ORS, coconut water, lemon juice and fresh fruit juices can help maintain hydration and restore essential minerals lost through sweating.
Health specialists also recommend avoiding tea, coffee, alcohol and sugary drinks during extreme weather because they may increase dehydration. The period between 11 am and 4 pm is considered the most intense time for sunlight exposure and should be avoided as much as possible.
People stepping outdoors for essential work are advised to wear loose cotton clothes with lighter shades and use umbrellas, hats or sunglasses for protection. Staying in cooler places and using fans, coolers or air conditioning can help reduce the impact of extreme heat and lower the risk of heatstroke.
