A shocking case in Medchal district has taken a tragic turn, with a young woman ending her life after being allegedly injected with HIV infected blood by a man she had earlier refused to marry.

The incident, which had already drawn widespread attention, occurred under the Pocharam IT Corridor police station limits. Police had earlier arrested the accused, a 24 year old man working as a transport supervisor, following a complaint filed by the victim’s family.

According to investigators, the accused and the victim, who were known to each other for years, were once in a relationship with the consent of their families. Plans for marriage were reportedly underway until recent medical tests revealed that the man was HIV positive, leading to the cancellation of the wedding.

Unable to accept the rejection, the accused allegedly planned the attack. Police said he purchased a syringe, filled it with his own blood and later confronted the woman at her residence. When she again refused to marry him, he forcibly injected the blood into her and fled the scene.

Following the incident, a case was registered and the accused was taken into custody. However, the emotional trauma and fear reportedly affected the victim deeply. In a tragic development, she later died by suicide at her home, leaving her family devastated.

The incident has raised serious concerns about personal safety, mental health support and the need for stronger preventive measures in such cases. Authorities are continuing their investigation while legal proceedings against the accused are underway.

The case has also sparked public outrage, with many calling for strict punishment and greater awareness about both health issues and criminal accountability.
