Hyderabad Rain Alert Showers Expected Across City for Next Two Hours

Several parts of Hyderabad are witnessing light rain as weather officials warn of thunderstorms and showers across the city for the next few hours.

Light rain in Hyderabad has affected several parts of the city, bringing sudden weather changes during the evening hours. Commuters returning home from offices faced traffic congestion in many areas as rain showers slowed down movement on busy roads.

According to weather updates, drizzle and light showers have been reported in several localities including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Yousufguda, Ameerpet, Panjagutta, Lakdikapul, Manikonda, Secunderabad and Gachibowli.

As the rain began during peak travel hours, motorists experienced traffic delays at several junctions. Many commuters struggled to navigate waterlogged roads and slow moving vehicles while trying to reach home.

Weather observers have indicated that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may continue in parts of Hyderabad between 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm. Residents in areas such as Quthbullapur, Alwal, Gajularamaram, Malkajgiri, Kapra, Balanagar, Jeedimetla, Bollaram, Kompally, Bachupally, Ramachandrapuram and Patancheru have been advised to remain cautious.

Central Hyderabad areas may also witness rainfall during the evening hours. Weather experts have urged residents and commuters to stay alert as sudden showers could continue for a few hours.

Meanwhile, the weather department has also issued a yellow alert for several districts in Telangana due to possible rainfall and gusty winds. According to forecasts, rain accompanied by thunder and winds of around thirty to forty kilometres per hour may occur in parts of the state.

For March 16, rainfall is expected in districts including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy.

On March 17, the possibility of rainfall extends to additional districts such as Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Mahabubnagar along with several others across Telangana. Weather officials continue to monitor the situation and advise residents to remain cautious during sudden rain and thunderstorms.
