Indiramma Houses Announced for Khammam Bhoodan Evictees After Demolitions

Telangana government plans Indiramma houses for Khammam Bhoodan evictees after recent demolitions with field surveys to identify eligible families and provide immediate housing relief under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy leadership.

  • Khammam Bhoodan evictees will receive Indiramma houses after eligibility verification.
  • Field level surveys are underway to identify genuine beneficiaries.
  • Revanth Reddy government aims to provide quick housing relief to affected families.

The Telangana government has decided to provide Indiramma houses to families displaced from Bhoodan lands in the Velugumatla area on the outskirts of Khammam. The move comes after recent demolitions left several families without shelter, triggering public concern and political debate.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held discussions with district authorities and directed them to immediately begin a detailed field level survey. Officials have been asked to identify eligible beneficiaries based on social and economic criteria and submit a comprehensive report at the earliest.

The controversy erupted after revenue and municipal officials removed alleged illegal constructions under heavy police security, claiming the land belonged to the government. Hundreds of structures were demolished, with affected residents alleging that the action was taken without adequate notice or time to relocate their belongings.

In response, the state government stepped in to extend support to families who lost their homes. The Chief Minister, along with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, instructed the Khammam district collector to ensure that deserving families are not left without rehabilitation.

Authorities have already completed surveys of around 100 families and are verifying whether the displaced residents are locals or from other districts. Details such as income status, existing assets and housing capacity are being examined to finalize the beneficiary list.

Once the survey is completed, eligible families will be allotted Indiramma houses as per government guidelines. District officials stated that the process will be transparent and aimed at providing immediate relief while protecting government land from illegal occupation.
