Farmers displaced by the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park project in Warangal have received a boost as the state government increased the size of allotted house plots under its rehabilitation plan. The decision aims to provide better living conditions for affected families.
At a public event in Geesukonda mandal, house site registration documents were handed over to beneficiaries from Sangem village. The allotments are part of the rehabilitation package, with plots located in the Rajiv Gandhi Township developed for displaced families.
Initially, each beneficiary was allotted 50 square yards, but the size was later enhanced to 75 square yards following intervention at the ministerial level. The revision came after concerns were raised that the earlier allocation was insufficient for building proper homes.
A total of 186 beneficiaries are covered under the current allotment. Officials highlighted that the move reflects the government’s effort to address the needs of displaced communities more effectively.
The township is being developed with significant infrastructure support, with works worth around 80 crore currently in progress. Planned facilities include a primary school, health centre, gram panchayat office, veterinary hospital, roads, culverts, and power supply systems.
Authorities also stated that employment opportunities will be provided to eligible members of displaced families within the textile park, ensuring livelihood support alongside housing benefits.
Officials warned that strict action will be taken against illegal constructions and encroachments in the township area, stressing the importance of maintaining planned development.
The textile park project, which had earlier faced delays, is now gaining pace, with improved coordination helping push forward both industrial and rehabilitation components.
