Former MLC Kavitha has indicated that Telangana will soon witness the launch of a new political party, saying preparations are underway and the formal announcement is likely within the next three months.

Speaking at the Telangana Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills, Kavitha said the timing of the party’s launch is being finalised after consulting auspicious dates. She made these remarks during an informal interaction with media following a meeting, adding that the process of forming the new party is moving steadily.

Kavitha, who recently resigned from both the BRS party and her MLC post, used the occasion to launch sharp criticism against the state government led by Revanth Reddy. She alleged that the government lacks the political courage to directly confront K Chandrashekar Rao and accused it of indulging in personal attacks instead of addressing real issues.

On welfare promises, Kavitha recalled assurances made in the Kamareddy Declaration, particularly the commitment to allocate twenty thousand crore rupees annually for backward classes and to make the BC sub plan a legal framework. She alleged that these promises were not fully reflected in the last two state budgets, despite marginal increases in allocations.

The former MLC also spoke strongly about the phone tapping controversy, claiming that the investigation was targeting minor officials while those who allegedly authorised the surveillance were being spared. She said the case was being stretched unnecessarily and questioned the seriousness of the probe.

Beyond political criticism, Kavitha announced that Telangana Jagruthi will organise a Telangana movement self respect meeting on the twelfth of this month. She called upon families of martyrs, activists and supporters of the Telangana cause to participate, saying the event aims to preserve the movement’s legacy and dignity.

With her remarks, Kavitha has made it clear that she is preparing for an independent political path, signalling a fresh phase in Telangana politics in the coming months.
