In a significant push towards women welfare, Minister Seethakka has instructed officials to conduct comprehensive medical checkups for all members of women self help groups and prepare detailed health profiles. The decision was taken during a high level review meeting held at the Secretariat in Hyderabad.
The minister said the initiative aims to ensure early detection of health issues and provide timely medical support to women across the state. She added that several new schemes focused on women empowerment would soon be launched with the approval of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
During the meeting, discussions covered a wide range of issues related to women safety and welfare. The functioning of She Teams, Bharosa centers, cyber crime units, safety in educational institutions, hostels and workplaces, and security during late night travel were reviewed in detail.
Seethakka stressed the need to ensure maternity benefits for women working in the private sector. She also called for digital monitoring systems in shelter homes and hostels to strengthen security arrangements. Institutions and corporate companies were advised to implement mandatory audit mechanisms for Internal Complaints Committees to ensure accountability and transparency.

Strengthening CCTV surveillance in public transport and conducting safety audits during peak hours were also part of the discussions. Special policies are being planned for elderly women, single women and women with disabilities to address their unique challenges.
In cases where women are left alone due to domestic violence, the minister suggested extending government backed loans to help them build self employment opportunities and regain financial independence.
Senior officials including Sanjay Kumar, Shikha Goel, Christina Chongthu, Anita Ramachandran, Divya Devarajan, Shruti Ojha and Priyanka Varghese attended the meeting and shared inputs on implementation strategies.
