The investigation into the POCSO case involving Bandi Bhagirath has entered an important phase as police officially took him into custody from Cherlapally Jail for further questioning. Investigators are expected to continue examining different aspects of the case over the next three days.

Earlier, the Medchal Malkajgiri court granted permission for police custody after officials requested additional time to carry out detailed questioning. Though investigators had sought a longer custody period, the court approved three days for the inquiry process.

Police believe that custodial questioning may help them gather more details connected to the case. Officials are attempting to verify information already collected and determine whether any additional evidence or developments emerge during the investigation.

Authorities had previously questioned the minor girl, her mother, and several people connected to the matter and reportedly gathered key information. Investigators are now focusing on obtaining further clarity through direct questioning of the accused.

Legal arguments also took place during the custody proceedings. The defense side opposed the police request and sought conditions related to questioning procedures and medical examinations before and after the investigation process.

Meanwhile, a bail petition was also submitted on behalf of Bandi Bhagirath. The legal team argued that the allegations were false and motivated, while seeking relief through the court. After hearing arguments on both sides, the court agreed with the police request and allowed custody for further investigation.

The case was registered on May 8 at Pet Basheerabad Police Station under POCSO provisions following allegations involving a minor girl. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue legal and procedural steps.
