Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged the Union government to establish a green steel plant in Bayyaram, positioning it as a key step toward sustainable industrial development in the state.
During his visit to New Delhi, the Chief Minister met Union ministers including H D Kumaraswamy and Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma to present a series of proposals aimed at boosting Telangana’s industrial ecosystem.
Reddy emphasized that setting up a green steel plant would not only help address the country’s steel demand but also reduce environmental impact through cleaner production methods. He highlighted that the project aligns with the broader Telangana Rising 2047 vision, which focuses on sustainable and future ready industries.
In addition to the steel plant, the Chief Minister proposed the establishment of recycling units for old vehicle scrap and manufacturing facilities for electric vehicle batteries. These initiatives are expected to strengthen the state’s role in emerging industries and support eco friendly practices.
He also appealed for central support in transforming Hyderabad into a pollution free city, underlining the importance of green initiatives in urban development. The proposals reflect Telangana’s efforts to combine industrial growth with environmental responsibility.
The discussions are seen as part of a larger push to attract investments and position the state as a hub for modern and sustainable industries in the coming years.
