Sanathnagar TIMS Hospital Set for March Launch as Works Near Completion

The Telangana government is fast tracking final preparations to open the Sanathnagar TIMS super specialty hospital in March, with infrastructure checks deadlines and trial runs underway.

The Telangana government has stepped up efforts to open the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences super specialty hospital at Sanathnagar by March, aiming to strengthen public healthcare access in Hyderabad. Senior officials have been directed to ensure that all remaining works are completed within strict timelines.

Following instructions from the Chief Minister and the Roads and Buildings Minister, the department’s special chief secretary conducted a detailed inspection of the hospital complex. Contractors were given a clear deadline to complete all pending works by February 28, with no scope for further delays.

Officials from the Directorate of Medical Education TGMSIDC MCHIDC and R and B engineering wings along with representatives of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures reviewed progress across all floors. Special attention was given to emergency wards operation theatres ICUs and the Central Sterile Services Department where finishing works are in the final stages.

Authorities confirmed that key facilities including oxygen lines nursing stations registration counters and an RO plant for the emergency wing will be ready for trial runs by the end of the month. Instructions were also issued to complete signage laundry services curtains and ICU bed railings to ensure operational readiness.

Most major medical equipment has already been installed while procurement of another 540 medical devices is currently underway. To supervise trial operations between February 12 and 28 around 100 doctors paramedical staff and housekeeping personnel will be deployed in the first phase. Out of 1,059 rooms inspections have been completed in 225 rooms with immediate installation of beds and equipment underway in cleared areas.
