The Telangana government is set to introduce a digital media policy in the coming months, aiming to bring clarity and structure to the evolving media landscape in the state.

Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that the policy is currently in its final stages and is expected to be implemented within two to three months. The move is seen as a step toward addressing challenges faced by digital media platforms and journalists.

The minister also clarified concerns surrounding journalist accreditation, stating that there will be no discrimination between field reporters and desk journalists. Both categories will be treated equally under the revised system.

Officials have taken feedback from media professionals and their associations after issuing initial guidelines, leading to necessary amendments. A dedicated committee has also been formed to streamline the process of issuing accreditation cards.

In addition to policy reforms, the government is preparing to make announcements regarding house site allotments for journalists. Authorities have assured that the process will be carried out carefully to avoid any future legal issues.

The minister emphasized that job security for journalists remains a priority and that the government is committed to safeguarding their professional interests.

With these measures, the Telangana government aims to strengthen the media ecosystem while ensuring transparency, fairness, and support for journalists across the state.
