A court in Warangal has delivered its verdict in a 2021 rape case, sentencing the husband of a local corporator to ten years in prison. The judgment was pronounced after a detailed hearing, bringing closure to a case that had been under trial for several years.

The case was registered under the jurisdiction of Mills Colony Police Station, where the complaint was initially filed. After examining the evidence and arguments presented, the court concluded that the accused had committed the crime of cheating and sexual assault against a young woman.

The verdict was delivered by Premalatha, who found the primary accused, Aakuthota Sirish, guilty. The court not only awarded him a ten year prison sentence but also imposed a fine of Rs 55,000 as part of the punishment.

In addition to the main accused, the court also examined the role of his father, Aakuthota Sudhakar, in the case. It was found that he had assisted in the matter, following which the court imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on him.

The judgment highlights the court’s firm stance in dealing with serious criminal offenses and reinforces the importance of accountability regardless of social or political connections.
