The Telangana government has brought welcome relief to village panchayats by releasing fresh funds aimed at boosting grassroots development across the state. The decision is expected to ease long pending financial pressure on local bodies.
As per official orders issued by the finance department, an amount of 250 crore rupees has been credited to panchayat accounts. The release was cleared under the directions of Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, marking a key step in strengthening rural governance.
Officials said the funds are meant to support essential village level works such as sanitation, drinking water facilities, internal roads and basic infrastructure. The move comes at a time when panchayats are preparing to speed up development activities before the upcoming financial cycle.
In addition to the state allocation, Telangana has also received the second installment of central assistance under the Fifteenth Finance Commission, amounting to 387 crore rupees.
