The Telangana government has announced a special relaxation for Muslim employees in view of the holy month of Ramzan. The decision is aimed at helping staff balance official duties with religious observances during the fasting period.
As per the circular issued by the Telangana government Muslim employees working in government offices schools boards corporations and public sector units will be permitted to leave work by 4 pm. The relaxation will be in force from February 19 to March 20 covering the entire Ramzan month.
Officials said the move recognises the physical and spiritual discipline observed by Muslims during Ramzan. Fasting from dawn to dusk along with extended night prayers often places additional strain on daily routines making early departure from offices helpful.
The government clarified that the relaxation applies to regular contractual and outsourcing employees as well as teachers. Department heads have been asked to ensure smooth implementation without disrupting essential services.
The decision has been welcomed by employees who see it as a considerate step respecting faith while maintaining administrative efficiency across the state.
