Indiramma Housing Scheme to Expand in Urban Areas With Beneficiary Selection Soon Telangana government plans to expand Indiramma housing in core urban areas with beneficiary selection by next month end and issue house allotment letters to eligible families owning plots this month.

The Telangana government has moved closer to launching Indiramma housing projects in major urban regions with a clear timeline for beneficiary selection and construction planning. The initiative targets the Core Urban Region Economy covering Hyderabad Rangareddy Sangareddy and Medchal districts.
Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the process to identify beneficiaries will be completed by the end of next month. He directed officials to distribute allotment documents this month to nearly twenty eight thousand eligible beneficiaries who already own house plots within municipal corporation limits.
A high level review meeting was held at the Secretariat with ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu Ponnam Prabhakar and Ajaruddin along with district collectors and senior officials. The discussions focused on land availability slum redevelopment unfinished double bedroom houses and allocation of completed homes.
Officials informed the ministers that many urban poor prefer housing near their current livelihoods and show reluctance to relocate far from Hyderabad. Past data revealed that nearly half of earlier housing units built away from the city remain unoccupied highlighting the need for location based planning.
Taking these factors into account the government is considering construction of five to ten floor Indiramma housing towers in urban slums wherever residents agree. Ministers asked municipal commissioners and collectors to submit detailed reports within ten days on land identification number of houses possible and beneficiary data.
The review also addressed funding for incomplete double bedroom houses identification of genuine beneficiaries removal of bogus claims and ensuring basic amenities such as drinking water power and drainage in all housing colonies.
