In a significant step toward inclusive education, a Work Site School has been inaugurated in Narsingi to support children of migrant labourers, ensuring they are not left out of the learning system.

The initiative was launched at the Rajapushpa labour camp through a joint effort involving the Telangana Education Department, municipal authorities, and private developers. It is designed to provide a structured and safe classroom environment for children whose families have migrated from states like Jharkhand, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh in search of work.

By setting up classrooms within the labour camp itself, the program removes barriers that often prevent migrant children from attending school. Officials say the effort aims to uphold every child’s right to education while also protecting them from risks such as child labour and social neglect.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr M Ramesh highlighted the crucial role migrant workers play in the state’s development and stressed the shared responsibility of ensuring their families are supported. He noted that collaboration between government bodies and private organisations can deliver meaningful results, especially when focused on children’s welfare.

Municipal Commissioner G Srijana emphasised that a truly developed city must prioritise people alongside infrastructure. She assured that steps will be taken to sustain the initiative by appointing caretakers and ensuring coordination with authorities for the safety and well being of the children.

The program also includes mid day meal support, reinforcing both nutrition and education. Officials believe this model can serve as a benchmark for similar initiatives across the state, bringing education closer to those who need it the most.
