The Telangana government has signaled a stronger push towards improving living conditions in tribal and agency regions, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy promising to enhance the Indiramma housing quota in these areas. The assurance comes as part of a broader commitment to accelerate development and address long-pending issues affecting tribal communities.

During a meeting held at his Jubilee Hills residence, the Chief Minister interacted with a delegation of tribal MLAs led by Minister Seethakka. The team submitted a representation highlighting key challenges in agency regions, including delays in infrastructure projects and lack of housing support. Responding positively, Revanth Reddy emphasized that tribal welfare remains a priority and assured that concrete steps would follow.

A major highlight of the discussion was the proposal to increase the existing allocation of 3500 Indiramma houses per constituency in tribal regions. The government is already implementing the scheme to provide housing for the गरीब, with several units completed and others under construction. Now, additional allocations are being considered specifically for tribal populations to ensure equitable access to housing.

Beyond housing, the Chief Minister addressed infrastructure bottlenecks that have slowed development in forest and agency areas. He assured that hurdles related to forest clearances for roads, check dams and borewells would be resolved. Officials have been directed to expedite permissions so that essential works can begin without unnecessary delays.

Special focus will also be placed on constructing check dams to support both drinking water and irrigation needs in tribal belts. These projects are expected to significantly improve water availability for farmers and households alike. In addition, requests for borewell permissions in lands cultivated by tribal farmers received a favorable response from the Chief Minister.

Revanth Reddy further reiterated plans to strengthen Integrated Tribal Development Agencies, ensuring better administrative support and implementation of welfare schemes. He noted that improving basic infrastructure in these regions is central to achieving inclusive growth across Telangana.

The meeting was attended by several public representatives, including MLAs and a Rajya Sabha member, who collectively stressed the urgency of resolving ground-level issues in agency areas. The government is now expected to move forward with policy decisions aimed at delivering on these assurances.
