A major transformation is taking shape in the Telangana education sector as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy unveiled a series of reforms aimed at strengthening government schools. The state government plans to introduce several student focused initiatives designed to provide quality education and reduce financial burdens on families.
One of the most important announcements is the introduction of free or subsidised bus travel for government school students. From the next academic year students studying in government institutions will be able to travel free or at fifty percent concession in buses. The move is expected to benefit thousands of students from rural and remote villages who currently walk long distances every day to reach schools.
The government believes that improving transportation facilities will encourage more children to attend school regularly. For many families in rural Telangana transportation expenses are a major obstacle to continuing education. By providing affordable travel the government hopes to ensure that no child drops out because of distance or financial difficulties.
Another key reform is the introduction of an integrated schooling system. Under the proposed policy students will be able to study from nursery to class twelve in the same campus. This approach is intended to remove the need for students to shift between schools and junior colleges at different stages of education. Officials say the system will create a smoother academic journey and reduce disruptions in learning.
To support this integrated model the government plans to establish Telangana Public Schools in every constituency. These institutions are expected to offer modern infrastructure advanced classrooms and improved teaching standards similar to private corporate schools. The initiative aims to ensure that students from economically weaker backgrounds also receive high quality education.
The government is also planning to expand nutrition programs for students. Along with the existing midday meal scheme students in these public schools will receive free nutritious breakfast or morning tiffin. Officials believe this will improve student health concentration levels and overall academic performance.
Education officials say these reforms could significantly reduce dropout rates across the state. Access to transportation continuous schooling and better nutrition may help many students remain in the education system until higher secondary level. The new policies are also expected to benefit girls from rural areas who often face difficulties travelling long distances for education.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been closely monitoring the education department and personally reviewing reform proposals. With the department functioning under his direct supervision government sources indicate that the implementation process may move faster than previous reforms.
The Telangana government believes that strengthening public education is essential for long term social development. By upgrading government schools and introducing student friendly policies the state aims to create an education system that offers equal opportunities to all children regardless of economic background.
