The Telangana government has clarified that there is no plan to reduce the salaries of government teachers. The statement came after widespread concern among teachers following discussions surrounding a report submitted by the Telangana Education Commission.

Senior leader and government adviser K Keshava Rao addressed the issue and reassured teachers that the government has no intention of implementing any salary cuts. Speaking on March 4, 2026, he said that the report being discussed is only one among several recommendations submitted to the government.

The rumours about salary reductions had triggered anxiety among government teachers across the state. Many educators expressed concern after the Education Commission report became a topic of public discussion.

Keshava Rao explained that the report should not be interpreted as a final government decision. According to him, the document is only a set of suggestions provided to the administration for consideration as part of broader discussions on education reforms.

He stressed that the government values the contribution of teachers and remains committed to supporting them. The administration, he said, understands the importance of teachers in strengthening the education system.
