Amid rising tensions with transport workers, the Telangana government has moved to address long standing concerns by setting up a high level committee to examine issues faced by TGSRTC employees. The decision comes just as employee unions intensify their stance over unresolved demands.

The four member panel will be headed by the Special Chief Secretary of the Transport and Roads and Buildings Department. Senior officials from labour, finance and transport wings have also been included to ensure a comprehensive review of employee grievances.

According to officials, the committee has been tasked with studying service conditions and other related concerns raised by TGSRTC staff. It has been given a deadline of four weeks to submit its recommendations to the government.

The move follows multiple representations from employees seeking improvements in working conditions and clarity on various service matters. The government stated that the formation of the panel is aimed at finding a structured and balanced solution.

However, the development comes against the backdrop of growing unrest. TGSRTC employees under the Joint Action Committee have already announced a statewide strike starting April 22 after talks with authorities failed to yield results.

The committee is expected to play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the government and employees. With the deadline set and tensions building, all eyes are now on whether the panel’s recommendations can help ease the situation and prevent further escalation.
