Telangana Revamps Rythu Bharosa Payout, Farmers to Receive First Installment Together

Government introduces a new method ensuring every eligible farmer gets initial financial support at once, speeding up fund distribution and reducing long delays seen in earlier phased payments system.

  • Rythu Bharosa funds released to all farmers in first phase together.
  • Rs 6000 per acre credited initially under new system.
  • Telangana speeds up Rythu Bharosa payments in three phases.

In a major policy shift, the Telangana government has announced a revised approach to distributing Rythu Bharosa financial assistance, bringing relief to millions of farmers across the state. The new system ensures that all eligible beneficiaries receive funds in the very first phase, marking a significant departure from the earlier staggered model.

Under the updated plan, financial aid will be credited starting with the first acre for every farmer, regardless of the total landholding. This means each farmer will receive Rs 6000 initially for one acre, even if they own larger parcels of land. The remaining amount for additional acres will be disbursed in subsequent phases, allowing immediate support to reach everyone at once.

Previously, the government followed a sequence where farmers with smaller landholdings received funds first, while those owning larger areas had to wait through multiple rounds. This often led to delays stretching across several phases, causing inconvenience, especially for farmers needing timely investment for cultivation.

With the new structure, the government aims to complete the entire disbursement process within three phases. Officials indicated that the first installment will benefit nearly 70 lakh farmers, with an estimated outlay of Rs 3590 crore. The second phase is expected to follow within 20 days of the initial transfer, while the final installment is scheduled to be completed by the end of April.

The announcement also comes with an update for new applicants. Authorities have opened fresh registrations for eligible farmers, urging them to submit applications before the deadline. Farmers who obtained their pattadar passbooks by February 2026 are eligible to apply for the scheme.

Applicants are required to visit local agricultural offices or farmer support centers with necessary documents, including land ownership records, Aadhaar, bank account details, and completed application forms. Officials also emphasized that land records must be properly registered in the Dharani portal and classified as cultivable agricultural land to qualify.

This revamped payout model is expected to streamline fund distribution and ensure quicker financial assistance reaches farmers when they need it most, especially during critical agricultural seasons.
