The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a new governing body for the Andhra Pradesh State Film Television and Theatre Development Corporation, bringing several well known personalities from the film and media industry into important positions. The appointments were officially announced through government orders issued on Thursday.
One of the key highlights in the new setup is the appointment of filmmaker Meher Ramesh as Vice Chairman of the corporation. The decision places the director in a significant administrative role as the state aims to strengthen activities connected to the film and entertainment sector.
The government also named P Bharat Bhushan, former President of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce and a noted film distributor, as Chairman of the corporation. The post had remained vacant for nearly two years and the latest move is expected to bring fresh momentum to the organization.
Along with the top appointments, a 14 member board of directors has also been formed with representatives from different fields of cinema and media. Senior actors Suman and Shivaji, along with actress Jhansi, have been included in the directors panel.
The newly appointed team also includes writer Burra Sai Madhav, directors S V Krishna Reddy and V Samudra, producers Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao and Kuchibhotla Vivekananda, as well as senior journalist K Uma Maheswara Rao and several others. The diverse selections reflect an effort to bring experienced voices from multiple sectors under one platform.
