TTD Rolls Out Summer Relief Plan for Tirumala Devotees Amid Rising Heat
With soaring temperatures across the state TTD introduces cooling infrastructure shelters and improved facilities worth crores to ensure safe and comfortable darshan experience for lakhs of pilgrims visiting Tirumala this summer

- TTD has launched summer relief measures worth about Rs 3.21 crore to protect devotees from extreme heat in Tirumala
- Cooling paint, shaded queue lines, and improved drinking water facilities have been arranged across key temple and walking route areas
- Crowd management is being strengthened using data monitoring to ensure faster darshan and better comfort during peak summer rush
As temperatures continue to rise sharply across the state, authorities at Tirumala have stepped in with an extensive summer preparedness plan aimed at protecting devotees from extreme heat. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has begun implementing a series of measures designed to make the pilgrimage safer and more comfortable during peak summer months.
The temple town witnesses a constant flow of pilgrims throughout the year, but footfall is expected to surge further during the holiday season. Learning from previous years, officials have carefully studied crowd patterns and waiting times to improve arrangements. Their focus this time is not just on managing crowds but also on reducing the physical strain caused by long hours in the heat.
A major part of the initiative involves upgrading infrastructure across key areas. Special cooling paint has been applied on roads and pathways frequently used by devotees to reduce surface temperature. This step is expected to prevent discomfort for those walking barefoot, especially around temple surroundings and busy zones.
Shelter arrangements have also been expanded significantly. Modern sheds have been installed near queue complexes and outside the temple premises to provide protection from direct sunlight. Walking routes leading to the temple have been equipped with additional shaded areas, restrooms and access to safe drinking water, ensuring that pilgrims remain hydrated and protected.
Key locations including guest houses, queue complexes and food distribution points have been covered with protective structures to minimize exposure to heat. Even areas around laddoo counters and gathering points have been redesigned with temporary shelters so that devotees can wait without being directly exposed to harsh sunlight.
Officials are also using technology to improve crowd management. A central monitoring system is tracking real time movement of devotees, allowing authorities to adjust darshan timings and reduce waiting periods. This data driven approach is helping streamline operations and enhance the overall experience.
Last year the temple recorded an average of eighty thousand visitors daily, and this number is expected to increase. Keeping this in mind, the administration has focused on both comfort and efficiency. From queue management to food distribution, every step is being closely monitored to ensure smooth functioning.
Devotees have welcomed these efforts, noting that the arrangements provide much needed relief during intense summer conditions. With these measures in place, pilgrims can now focus more on their spiritual journey rather than worrying about the challenges posed by the weather.
